Resin Bonded

Resin Bound is increasing in popularity for a wide range of applications such as driveways, patios, swimming pool surrounds, disabled access ramps, roof terraces, and balconies. Resin Bound gravel surfacing is a fully permeable SUDS-compliant system and offers an environmentally sound alternative to traditional paving products. As rainwater management becomes a more topical issue and one which the public at large is becoming more aware of the use of, a SUDS-compliant surfacing solutions will take on greater importance.

Resin Bond

Resin Bond has a more textured finish, Resin is spread onto a tarmac or concrete sub-base, and then the loose aggregate of up to 6mm in size is broadcast over the top.
This provides an Anti-Slip surface in all weathers.

Wet Pour

Wet Pour rubber safety surfacing is suitable for playground installations where impact absorbent surfacing is a requirement up to the appropriate Maximum Free Fall Height. It can be used around complex configurations of playground equipment and ground contours.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is resin bound paving / aggregate ?

Put simply resin-bound paving is a mixture of aggregates and resin combined with a hardener which forms a hard durable surface suitable for pedestrian or vehicular use.

What surfaces can I apply resin bound paving to ?

Resin-bound surfaces are generally laid directly on a prepared base of concrete or tarmacadam/asphalt.

Does a Resin surface need to be laid on a newly prepared base?

No, as long as the original base is sound and has been thoroughly cleaned and loose materials and weeds have been removed. In some instances, a self-leveling compound may be required over a rough or uneven base.

How quickly can I use it ?

Resin Surfaces can be lightly trafficked for pedestrian use after 12 hours. It is recommended not to drive on it for 24 hours after application. The resin component continues to strengthen over a number of weeks to form a completely solid mass.

What is the difference between the 'trowel finish' and the 'scatter/broadcast system'

Our trowel finish system is mixed and laid at a depth of 12mm or 18mm depending on usage. The broadcast system is scattered directly on the resin-coated surface at a depth of 1-3mm.

How long will it last ?

The manufacturers of our resin-bound surfacing system estimate that the lifespan of the product is 15-20 years.

Can a Resin Surface be installed in the rain?

No, Resin needs to be installed in dry conditions of 4 degrees and rising.
